My beautiful friends over at Guilded, are raising funds to start a school for sustainable design within fashion. Without a doubt, sustainability is THE most important change that has to happen within the fashion industry. Both lovely lasses have proved to be highly adapt at working within a zero-waste and eco-conscious ethic. Whats more they are super talented designers, Tara's line Study NY winning an Ecco Domani award this year! Not only can you help fund their school for sustainable design but you also get great little incentives along the way! So you have no excuses, go fund 'em!

Definitely know where they are coming from, it's the reason I've stopped really shopping high street and have become really selective about what I buy otherwise. I mean, I am conscious about the food I buy, so why not fashion?
It was one of the main reasons I was so excited by Damir's Silent line. But with the recent news that they will stop using organic fabrics (I guess they make larger profits without, and the average consumer doesn't care about organic), I'm not sure I will be buying much more in the coming seasons.
Totally couldn't agree more with you Syed. The only place I shop on the high street nowadays is uniqlo for socks you know the absolute basics and because they actually last. My friend was talking to me the other day about how buying luxury even when it isn't necessarily green is actually green. You're buying something that is hopefully well designed and well made so will last. It also takes a chunk of money out of your bank which could be spent on a lot more lesser items that you can only wear a couple of times. Less but better and longer!
I had no idea that Silent was using organic fabrics and maybe that's why they stopped. I guess the problem is that if you promote it too much as being green that's what people see your line as (which really isn't a problem?) but if you don't promote it enough eventually the bottom line is going to make you think otherwise, unfortunately. I think that the number one thing we as consumers can do is learn to consume less. We consume less - designers are forced to design better products with more innovation in order for people to buy again. It's all become so mindless.
