I got to wear PJ's to NYFW... Of course I'm smiling about it!
Friday - AKA the day I wore Pajamas to five shows because my head hurt so much (and nobody was the wiser!)
Now I have to say I'm quite a big fan of what Susie of Style Bubble calls Dress Pajamas I. E. Pajamas you wear outside on evening occasions (not just evening occasions in bed). Now before I go forward, I do not unfortunately possess any form of dress pajamas. I do however own some very comfy clothes that more times then not I end up passing out asleep in or lounging around my apartment, gradually congealing into some odd mix of Strawberry (The British) and Blueberry (The American) jam. When I woke up on Saturday morning (very proud it was before noon!) I felt like I had a hangover (which is virtually impossible due to my lack of drinking) after spending the previous evening getting very messy in a skirt at The Tribeca Grand. Yet I could not afford to stay in bed! No! I had shows to go to. In fact this was probably my fullest day.
On the cards today:
- PetrouMan
- Azzoulo
- Suno/Pamela Love/Erin Fetherston (?)
- Collar tucked in on one side to create an illusion that I only have half a collar
- Cardigan with a pin that goes through all the button holes and attached to a asymetrical sweater underneath
- The double layered skirt that looks like one skirt that's been mashed together
- On top of this strange masshup is a very classic, well fitting vintage Pea-coat creating a weird juxtaposition.
[Final Home Hood, Vintage Pea-coat]
[Club Monaco cardie with swapped out velvet buttons and pinned (off the shoulder) to, a Haat asymmetrical sweater, COS zip front sweater dress worn as a cardigan, Banana Republic plaid shirt, Random Vintage skirt tucked into, a vintage Laura Ashley skirt, Lanvin pajama bottoms, Grey suede fleece Dr Martens (very rare and verrrry comfy)
So there we go! Another outfit post I have somehow yet again semi-intellectualized. Don't worry there's only one more left before I can go back and start posting non-narcissistic things. I've almost finished digesting some of the exhibits I saw in London so they'll be up hopefully after these, but hey I'm my own boss and I'll post when I feel I'm good and ready to.

Funny how in the post that revolves around a pair of pajamas, the pajamas aren't even visible. Hike up that skirt! haha
I have actually been toying around with the idea of dress pajamas. I'm just lazy and I think a matching top and bottom in a nice, luxurious fabric would be a comfortable night outfit. The pajamas out in the market now are just too pajama-ey, but perhaps something in a textured but soft satin, cut roomy but with shape could work. It would be the spring/fall version of my summer matchy-matchy suit. I love how your version of dress pajamas is the total opposite of mine though, piled-on, messy, mismatched!
Izzy - Ha you're right I totally forgot that oh well They are slowly becoming second skin (actually that sounds kind of gross) I think we need your tailor to make some dress pajamas for sure! You wear it clean, I'll wear it messy! I know Susies are vintage but I have a feeling the only place you can find anything good would be europe :/
When did you get Lanvin PJs? I'm jealous. Also, fleece Doc Martins? Fleece on the inside!? I need to examine in person!
xx

Tiffany - Yeah Lanvin PJs hahaha I got them aggges ago from that gift card I told you about from Jeffreys, as I couldn't find anything else in the store lol. The Docs I got maybe 3 weeks ago (Thank you Docs connection lol) It's just getting warmer now so I dunno the next time I'll be wearing them but they are supppper comfy I must say.
The Haider & Ackermann mens collection SS 11 has loads of ' palazzo pyjamas' for oute wear. I love it but it is so amazing expensive. I keep wearing my Chinese pyjama silk top as shirt sometimes but you thoughts gave me some inspiration. The Fashion Philosopher ( My name is Rajmund by the way pronounced like Raymond )
Rajmund - OY VEY I LOVE HAIDER's clothes! Sooo good but that mens collection was a one time thing only for the Pitti I believe. Beautiful none-the-less. Glad I could inspire you with my madness (still trying to figure out if there is method to it yet or not)
The method is the feel if it is right what you put together, I guess? You are right with Haider & Ackerman, but as I can see how quickly the range is going off the rails on corner.com and browns.com ,even with these prizes, I hope he decides to do a mens range. But maybe he is going to Dior? I am not up-date who gets the job but I saw an interview with him by Hilary Alexander and he was a bit strange about moving to some bigger brand. Wow! This is so eclectic and beautiful. I know so many people who have attempted to do this and it just looks terrible, but everything just goes. It really is perfect.
