Ughhh god why am I so damn trendy!?!????

DSC_0723

A couple of weekends ago I was doing the rounds at my fave Billyburg Beacons Closet and sort of went batshit crazy, mostly in the main area. I did, however, strike gold in the men's area win the form of this lovely Lobo by Pendleton camel toggle coat with virgin wool fleece lining (for $40!). Obviously I recognized that it was Pendleton (always a good sign in vintage clothing), but had no idea what the Lobo brand meant until I did a little bit of internet research to discover these hilarious adverts entitled "The look of a man who runs ahead of the pack" accompanied by a rather posey wolf.

Either way Whenever I wear my new coat I'll be running with the pack; if you haven't heard camel happens to be a rather in colour (although I'm already getting of sick of the constant exposure to this rather classic colour). I wasn't really planning on getting anything camel this season precisely due to this reason in fact if I had seen the jacket any other time I would have snapped it up just as fast as I did a couple of weekends ago. It fits my shoulders nicely and the body is a little boxy which I sort of love. It's insanely cozy and warm (thanks to that fleece lining), and frankly the colour looks pretty vibrant for a wintery coat which is 2 thumbs up on my behalf. Anywho my friend Wax of Pop Bop and Snap and I decided to have dim sum last weekend. We walked off all that delicious MSG by journeying to my fair borough at the Brooklyn Flea and further on to Park Slopes Beacons to see what other deals we could find (more on those another time). Unlike perhaps Grizzly Adams (who I had imagine is slightly more a Pendleton customer then myself) I chose to wear my Lobo coat in a slightly more done-up sorta way what with tie and my Dad's old Church's (which I was rather painfully breaking in (Dad they are gradually molding to my feet, one wear at a time I promise!)) and an ultra Japanese twist in the form of my current favourite pants from Issey Miyake, which I got at the last Sale.

The coat reminds me of Grizzly Adams, who my sister and I have a mutual love of. Who wouldn't love a man escaping the law and effectively marrying a Grizzly Bear?

Jump! a la Lacoste.

Fleece lining = cozy happiness!

Really am feeling big pants lately. Not saying that skinny pants are dead or anything, just playing with proportions that's all!

Bowing down to the pants... Yes I'm crazy :/

Those Paul Smith x Lola broaches have fast formed into a staple. Clever people can track me by finding pieces of multi-coloured raffia all over Manhattan and Brooklyn. Also closeup of the rice paperesque Issey tie.

My dad's lovely Church's Cap-toes!

Park Slope sure is lovely in the Fall!

Trendy or not, what an amazing find. I think that Beacons is a treasure trove of labels hipster Williamsburgers don't care about. Like Issey. Love the pants by the way. And the Church shoes, Jimmy would approve!!!

Totally not trendy: the brooch and pants mix up the whole idea of trendy. And I have that DB bag!

Tiffany- Still breaking those shoes in but they are pretty lovely and you have to come to the one in park slope too! They have a smaller selection but there is always some pretty amazing stuff.

Joy-I wish DB would remake that bag in a larger size. New/Old PS1? and made in America!

Amber- Yes please when are we doing this?
